Duration: 440 total hours — 360 classroom + 80 workplace attachment — approx. 18 weeks

General Caregiving is the entry-level foundation course in THIRTYONE PLC's caregiver training portfolio. It is designed for learners with no prior caregiving background and builds the core knowledge, safety habits and hands-on skills that every caregiving role — elderly, child, disability or dementia — is built on. Graduates leave with a internationally recognized competency certificate and the practical readiness to begin work immediately in a hospital, elder-care home, clinic or private household.

Capacity and Services After Completion:

o Work as a general caregiver, ward/nursing aide assistant, or home-care attendant in hospitals, clinics, elder-care homes or private households.

o Perform basic health screening (vitals, routine observation) and clinical caregiving support under supervision.

o Assist clients with activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, feeding, mobility and toileting.

o Respond to basic emergencies with first-aid competence.

o Maintain nutrition, food safety and a client's diet plan, and apply basic physiotherapy techniques and household/health-facility hygiene.

Impact on Bangladesh's Economy

As of late 2025, more than three-quarters of Bangladeshi workers deployed abroad were classified as less-skilled or semi-skilled, with skilled and professional categories making up under a quarter of total deployment — a key reason Bangladesh earns less in remittance per worker than competitors such as the Philippines. A nationally certified General Caregiving graduate moves directly out of the "less-skilled" bracket, is eligible for better-paying postings, and forms the entry rung of a certified pipeline that feeds into ThirtyOne PLC's specialized Level 3 courses — elderly care, dementia care, special-needs care and childcare.

On its own, this certificate strengthens employability for household and hospital-support roles in the Gulf, Bangladesh's largest current labour market. Its real strategic value, however, is as the recognized entry qualification before progressing to the specialized Level 3 certificates below — the ones that map most directly onto the aged-care, disability-care and dementia-care worker categories that Australia, Germany, Japan and Taiwan are actively recruiting for.
